Benefits of Placing an Outright Sportsbook Bet Online – Outright betting is a type of sports betting where instead of betting on the outcome of a single match, you bet on the outcome of an entire competition or season.
These bets can be a lot of fun because you can usually enjoy them for most of the competition or season. An example of a futures bet would be betting at the start of the season that the Seattle Seahawks will win the Super Bowl. For you to win this bet, the Seahawks must not only reach the playoffs, but they must also reach the Super Bowl and ultimately win the game. As you might think this can be challenging, the payout on this bet gives you a much more expensive prize than betting on a typical single game.
Futures and Outright Betting Benefits
One of the best things about Outright betting is that you can enjoy your betting experience for more than one match. If you only bet on one game, once that game is over, your bola gila bet is also over, and you should place another one for more action and fun. Futures betting, on the other hand, can be enjoyed as long as your team is still in competition or still has a chance of winning.
This example of a futures bet will only expire when your team no longer has a chance to reach the playoffs or the Super Bowl. This means that you will at least be able to enjoy this bet for six or seven games, but hopefully more if you choose wisely. The bottom line here is that you will be cheering for betting on more than one match in most situations.
Higher Payout
As you probably already know, futures betting takes a lot to win your bet. Because of this, sportsbooks pay a lot more to make these bets. Usually, the more games that need to be won and the more teams that have a chance of winning, the higher the payout will be. Also, casino factors go against how likely they are to think that a different team or participant will win. All of this just means that if you make futures bets, you will be a happy camper.
Some Examples of Futures Betting
Futures betting is fairly easy, and most new sports bettors can catch on to it very quickly. What helps make these small nuances and general ideas clearer is to look at some real-life examples of the futures betting on offer. We’ve pulled three screenshot examples of actual futures bets for you to see here. We will walk you through how to read the information on the board, the criteria you must meet to win your bet, and how to calculate the amount you will win with your bet.
Example 1 – NFL Football
Here we have a screenshot of the betting futures offered at the start of the regular NFL season in 2015 for the Super Bowl winners. As you can see, each team is represented with their own payout odds depicted in a moneyline format. The lower the payout, the less likely the bookie is to think that the team should win the Super Bowl. Say at the start of the season you thought the New England Patriots would win the Super Bowl. Spoiler alert, they won the Super Bowl in 2015 and that is why we chose them for this example. You decide to place a $100 bet on this. Here are some of the possible outcomes and what you will get from this bet.
If you take a look at some of the other odds on offer, you’ll see that if you bet on the one that’s less likely to win the team and they manage to do it, you can make a lot of money. If you bet $100 on Jaguar and they win, you will make $20,000 on your $100 bet! Even if you bet $5 on Jaguar and they won the Super Bowl that year, you would still win $1000! Granted, it’s highly unlikely to happen, but you never know.
Example 2 – Premier League Football
This is a screenshot of the futures bets available in the 2014-15 Premier League football season. As you can see, this is very similar to the first NFL example except the payout odds are displayed in fractions instead of moneyline format. Everything else about this bet is exactly the same. You will notice that the payouts are slightly lower than the NFL example. This is because there are fewer teams involved and it is usually easier to pick a Premier League season winner early in the season. Payouts are still big and much higher on long shots.
Let’s say you place a $100 bet on Newcastle to win. If they do anything but win the entire league, you get $0. However, if they win, you will get $100,000! If you place $100 on favorite Chelsea, you will be paid $187.50 profit on that bet. Not as big as the NFL payout, but more likely to hit.…
